EVENT INFORMATION
LOCATION: Eddyville is located in western Kentucky on U.S. Highway 62. Use exits 45 or 40 off I-24, or exit 4 off Western Kentucky Parkway. Lee S. Jones Park is located less then a mile south of Eddyville on KY Highway 93. A lighted sign will denote the entrance.
Reenactors: Advanced registration is $10.00 per person or $15.00 for entire family (regardless of number) prior to April 15, 2012. Registration after April 15th is $10.00 for first person and $5.00 for other family member. Late registration will be available at registration desk.
All reenactors must report to the registration desk upon arrival. Waivers will be on hand and must be signed by every reenactor. Tickets for meals and Ladies Tea will be distributed upon signing waiver. Ladies attending Ladies Tea must be registered and sign a waiver.
Unattached reenactors will be assigned a unit depending on discipline.
Anyone participating in Friday school demonstrations may arrive after 4 PM on Thursday, April 26th. All others may arrive after 7 AM on Friday, April 27th.
Upon arrival, reenactors may drive to the encampment area to unload. Vehicles must be moved to reenactor parking area as soon as possible. Don’t forget to report to registration desk!
Sutlers: Period Sutlers will be placed in an area with heavy spectator foot traffic. Fees will depend on space needed. Every effort will be made to limit the number to 2 sutlers according merchandise sold. Call (270) 388-5300 for information.
Food venders: Commercial period food vendor space is available on a fist come basis. A $50. Fee is required. Limited space is available for local civic groups and will be awarded on a first come basis. Call (270) 388-5300 for information.
SPECTATORS: General admission is $10.00 per car (regardless of number of passengers) for one day or $15.00 per car for entire weekend. Dashboard leave and return passes will be issued. Buses and motorcycles are $5. person.
Seating is limited, feel free to bring lawn chairs.
Food and beverages may not be brought into the park but can be purchased from vendors. Alcohol or other intoxicating substances are strictly prohibited.
Spectators should leave the park at the close of events. Please respect the reenactors quiet time.
Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Please use good judgment, loud cannon fire and some scenes may be traumatic to young children!
Unleashed pets will not be permitted in the park.
Spectators may not camp in the park overnight. Click Area Information for local campgrounds and lodging information.
PARKING: It is very important that you follow the signs and instructions of parking workers. Do not park along roads unless instructed. Elderly or handicapped persons will be assisted from parking area to event site.
VIEWING ENCAMPMENTS: Spectators are encouraged to visit encampments during scheduled times. Feel free to chat with reenactors and ask questions. Please remember you are stepping back into the 1800’s. Leave modern amenities outside the camps. The only exceptions are cameras and handicap necessities. Please mute cell phones
VIEWING DEMONSTRATIONS: Spectators are welcome at all demonstrations on Saturday and Sunday. Remember, the demonstrators like questions. Friday is reserved for students from local schools at no charge during the day. Friday evening, after 4 PM, is family night until dusk. There is no charge for Friday night.
VIEWING BATTLES: Limited bleacher seating is available along the battlefield on a first come basis. Consider bringing lawn chairs. Also, consider earplugs if you have a hearing problem. The battlefield is clearly marked. Only reenactors and staff will be permitted to cross the line!
EVENT VOLUNTEERS: Volunteers will be wearing clearly visible identification. Although many have specific duties, they are there to make your visit a great experience. Feel free to ask for help.
