A few things to remember!
There are a few restrictions but reenactments are a very enjoyable experience. Encampments are home to reenactors while in Lyon Co. and should be respected as such. Modern gadgets are not permitted in encampments. If it didn’t exist in 1860, don’t bring it in. Cameras are the exception to this rule. Turn off cell phones while in encampments. You are more then welcome to ask questions of reenactors. The battles are very loud but completely safe. Cannon fire and some scenes may be traumatic to very young children. Use good judgement. Children under 12 must have adult supervision at all times. Don’t bring food or drinks. Patronize vendors. Battlefield lines are clearly marked. Do not cross lines or enter into the field. Please leave the park at closing times. Please leave pets at home.
